Lateral Spurious Mode Suppression in Lithium Niobate A1 Resonators

نویسندگان

چکیده

This work presents an improved design that exploits dispersion matching to suppress the spurious modes in lithium niobate first-order antisymmetric (A1) Lamb wave mode resonators. The this is achieved by micro-machining thin film balance electrical and mechanical loadings of electrodes. In article, matchings A1 based on different metals are analytically modeled validated with finite-element analysis. fabricated devices exhibit spurious-free responses a quality factor 692 electromechanical coupling coefficient 28%. demonstrated method herein could overcome significant hurdle currently impeding commercialization devices.

Spurious Response Suppression in Waveguide Filters using E-Shaped Chiral Resonators

In this paper, chiral E-shaped resonators are used in a waveguide. Direction of EM wave and position of resonators for effective excitation is studied and various resonances of E-shaped resonators are determined. As a consequence an analytical equivalent circuit model is proposed. Finally, an array of these resonators is used to realize a wide reject band. The resulted band stop filter performa...

Integrated high quality factor lithium niobate microdisk resonators.

Lithium Niobate (LN) is an important nonlinear optical material. Here we demonstrate LN microdisk resonators that feature optical quality factor ~10(5), realized using robust and scalable fabrication techniques, that operate over a wide wavelength range spanning visible and near infrared. Using our resonators, and leveraging LN's large second order optical nonlinearity, we demonstrate on-chip s...

HIGH kt×Q, MULTI-FREQUENCY LITHIUM NIOBATE RESONATORS

This paper presents design and vacuum measurements of lithium niobate (LN) contour-mode resonators (CMR). By carefully positioning the inter-digital transducer (IDT), we achieved CMRs with kt×Q of 7%*2150=148 (IDT @ node) or resonators with very high kt of 12.3% and spur-attenuated response (IDT @ anti-node). In addition, we demonstrated resonators with frequencies ranging from 400MHz to 800MHz...

Electro-optically tunable microring resonators on lithium niobate.

Electro-optical tuning of a microring resonator fabricated on lithium niobate (LiNbO3) is presented. The device structure, including microring resonator and couplers, is designed in detail and is produced by titanium diffusion on the wet-etched LiNbO3 ridge surface. The resonance wavelengths for TM and TE polarizations can be tuned by electro-optic effect. The output characteristics of through ...

Spurious Suppression Effect by Transmit Bandpass Filters with HTS Dual-Mode Resonators for 5 GHz Band

We report on the spurious suppression effect in lowmicrowave power transmitters by high temperature superconducting (HTS) bandpass filters (BPFs) which are promising for devices requiring BPFs with high-frequency selectivity. Some of the major issues on the power BPFs with HTS planar circuits for wireless communication applications are reviewed. As a case study for the HTS filter and its spurio...
